Live flight tracking by airport

Every page here carries the same three things: a fixed live map of the aircraft around that field, lists of what is arriving and leaving, and a straight account of where each of those numbers comes from.

Where the data comes from. Aircraft broadcast their own position, unencrypted, about twice a second. Volunteers run receivers that listen for those broadcasts and feed what they decode into a shared network, and that network is what these pages read. Nothing here is licensed from an agency or filtered before it reaches us, so what you are looking at is what the sky actually transmitted within range of somebody's antenna. That is also why coverage varies: the map is a map of the receivers as much as of the traffic.

What we watched, and what we inferred. The movements list is observation. A receiver saw the aircraft on the ground here and then airborne, or the reverse, and we recorded the time we saw it. The inbound and outbound lists are the one inference on the page: we match a live callsign against the routes that callsign has actually flown before. That is a good guide to where a flight is going and it is not a flight plan, so a diversion or an unusual routing will appear wrong. The distance column is there so you can see it when it is.

This is a deliberately short list. There are more than five thousand airports in our search index, and a page for a field nothing ever flies to would be a page with nothing on it. These 71 were chosen because people search for them, because the receiver network has genuine coverage there, and because there was something true and specific to say about each one.
